L. RAE EVERY DAY: A Few of My Favorite Things
It's been a cold and windy week here in upstate New York. It even SNOWED last night. SNOWED. So while I wait for April to warm up take a look at a few of my design and upstate essentials I'm currently obsessed with and completely necessary for a productive day.
Oversized. Soft. But I never look sloppy. Need I say more? This sweatshirt with a pair of leggings is an outfit I could wear every. single. day. And perfect while working on my laptop or grabbing groceries at the store.
2. NIKE AIR MAX THEA - Cargo Khaki
Nike Frees were my sneaker of choice but these are a quick new fav. They're crazy comfortable, light and the minimalist feel is definitely what I'm into right now. Gym. Errands. Lunch date. These are all you need.
3. YETI RAMBLER - 20 oz. - Olive Green
I don't think I'll ever own another travel mug. I use it for both hot and cold drinks. A necessity in the car or bearing the cold up here in New York. This little tumbler of temperature magic keeps my black coffee extra hot all day long and the ice in my lemon water never fully melts until the next day. I've even used it for my favorite gin cocktails and it works LIKE A CHARM.
These are a MUST for any designer or artist. I use them for any and all sketch work when it comes to calligraphy, illustrations, logo ideas, website wire frame ideas and so much more. These are KEY and also a great little stocking stuffer or birthday add-on for any creative person in your life!
These are also really great to have in your arsenal of design/art tools. I throw the smaller sized sketch pad in my bag or briefcase just in case I have an 'Ah-Ha' moment. I don't think I use anything else when it comes to drawing or sketching out basic design ideas. I love that it's recycled and I can usually find them on sale or grab a coupon off of the Michael's website and be good to stock up for a while.

Take a look at a few More products we just couldn't leave off the list...
MOLESKIN NOTEBOOKS - While the Strathmore sketch pads are perfect for my design ideas, these are perfect for keeping tabs on to-do's, client lists, business ideas, blog thoughts, etc. I throw these in my briefcase, in my bag, I keep them in my car and they never look beat up and always professional with the sleek black cover and closure color.
LL. BEAN BOOTS - These may be on the pricier side, but oh so worth it. These have kept my feet warm and dry through all the rain, snow and cold temps.
CLINIQUE DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT MOISTURIZING GEL - My skin also bares the brunt of Mother Nature's craziness so when it comes to combating major dry skin I always use Clinique's moisturizer. It leaves my skin soft, hydrated and feeling normal.
C.O. BIGELOW ROSE SALVE - I am easily influenced by packaging. Don't judge a book by it's cover? Tell that to a designer. It comes in a cute apothecary-like tin with a vintage looking label. This is an all-purpose salve with a rose scent and beautiful pink color. I use it mainly on my lips, giving my pout a perfect pink sheen. It also works great for patches of dry skin (like under your nose or hands) and I also use it on my cuticles. Definitely an all around LIFESAVER.
