'Practicing mindfulness' or 'being mindful' are definitely terms that have been popping up lately. But do we really take the time to dive into what that all means? To put it simply, It means you are purposefully present and in-the-moment with the goal of "achieving a state of alert, focused relaxation by deliberately paying attention to thoughts and sensations without judgment."
So, how do you even begin to become more mindful, reduce stress, and improve your mental wellbeing?

This rather large slice of fashion heaven arrived on my doorstep Tuesday afternoon and I haven’t been able to put it down since. No, you won’t find work from a famous photographer, call-to-actions or even runway models on the latest Vogue cover. Instead, you’ll find a painted portrait of Jennifer Lawrence. The cover is avant-garde in style with a Rococo, Dutch master-like feel - almost like a peculiar renaissance version of Dr. Seuss. Needless to say, it's captivating. It's romantic. It's warm. And I found myself staring at every stroke, every fleck of color. I don't know if it was because I was a Fine Arts major or my deep love for art or because it simply sparked memories and inspiration.
